So, what is the Inman Aligner…

The Inman aligner is one of the fastest ways of straightening your teeth. They are an excellent alternative to ‘invisible’ braces. They work by a system of springs, which push and pull the teeth into place and are made up of wires and clear plastic, and are very similar to a retainer in their appearance and the way you wear them.

Hi everyone! My name is Jayne and I joined the Shine Dental Team in July 2011. I’m really enjoying the lovely, family atmosphere Shine has to offer. All the staff here have the same aim and this is to make sure your visit with us at the practice is as relaxing and pleasant as possible. With over 20 years experience in Dentistry, patient care is very important to me. I am Head Nurse at Shine, which means I am always here to help a person in need and I am also in charge of overseeing Infection control and making sure the general cleanliness of the practice is kept to an exceptional standard. When I am not working, I am a busy Mum with a house full of teenagers and a wonderful husband to look after. When I do get a minute to myself, I love to read fictional and non-fictional novels, and try to attend the gym as often as i can!

1. Clean your teeth thoroughly ONE HOUR BEFORE, ensuring teeth are free from debris. Then make sure teeth are fully dry.
2. Load your bleaching trays ensuring that the reservoir in the front of the tray is covered in gel.
3. Place the tray snugly over dry teeth and gently press the trays to move the gel into place and  remove any excess gel with a tissue.
4. The custom fabricated trays should be worn for an interval of 2 hours (depending on the concentration). This will give optimal results within two weeks. You will not benefit any more by  keeping the trays in for longer than  the recommended time as the gel becomes ineffective.
5. After you have worn the trays for 2 hours remove the trays and rinse with cold water. Use a toothbrush to remove the residual gel from your trays and Clean with retainer brite. Then place your trays in the storage case provided and store in a cool, dry place.
6. Rinse your teeth to remove any excess gel after one hour and not before.
7. You may experience slight sensitivity. If you experience any severe sensitivity during the course of your treatment, please stop whitening and do not hesitate to contact us at the surgery.
